FAQs

Why do Aldi mostly sell own brands?
Because we mostly sell our own brands, we keep the quality high and the prices incredibly low – and that means unbeatable value for you.

Why do “Special Buys” go so quickly?
Our “Special Buys” are so competitively priced that demand is high. But because availability is limited, you’ve got to snap up the bargains as soon as you see them.

Why do you have to pay for carrier bags at Aldi?
There's no such thing as a free carrier bag. Many retailers add this cost into the prices of their products and so you pay for them indirectly. At Aldi if you decide you want to pay for a carrier bag, you can.

Why are there no baskets at Aldi?
To have both baskets and trolleys only adds to the costs, which leads to higher prices. Trolleys are easier to use. And with our £1.00 deposit system, they’re less likely to go walkabout.

Why are Aldi stores not listed in the phone book?
The Store Manager or Area Manager handles all customer enquiries, so the easiest way to contact them is by returning to the store. This way our service to customers is prompt and personal.

Why are there so few staff?
We like to call our staff the “fastest, friendliest people in retail”. Our intensive training programme means all our staff operate at the highest standards, all the time.

How can I change the newsletter format?
At the bottom of the newsletter, there is a link to change the newsletter format (text/HTML). Just click on the text and you’ll receive the next edition in that format.
